Hems and Seams

I experimented with creating seams and hems on different materials.
From top to bottom:
Jersey - Jersey is a strechy material so can be quite difficult to keep control of when stitching. I found the best way to create a straight line with this fabric is to press the peddle gently so you have more control.
Velvet - The velvet fabric I found most difficult to work with as it tends to move whilst your stitching causing it to bunch slightly. It was also hard to keep it in a straight line.
Voile - When I first tried stitching with voile, I had the stitch length on number 3 which was too long and kept causing the machine to come un-thread. I had to put the stitch length down to 0 to create a straight, more controlled line. I also found moving the direction of the needle didn't work with this materil and caused the thread to bunch up.
Cotton - Cotton was the easiest material to work with. I found I could work quite fast on the machine and still keep a straight line.
