Primary Research: Placement

I have created some design ideas for placement of my embroidery from my primary research at Glastonbury. I looked at different ways which I can include my embroidery onto my garments. I specifically like the ideas of placing some embroidery onto the cuff or collar. I feel this would be a nice asset to a simple jersey dress style. The design idea is inspired by a necklace I found in a shop in the town centre. The collar shape I have created I am not so keen on and would prefer to have one which widens towards the front so I have room to feature a motif.

I like the idea of creating a patch for a denim jacket however to create a high standard patch I would need a digital embroidery machine which I unfortunately don't have.

The pocket placement would be a intriguing way to embellish a basic t-shirt. However, my final designs are going to be more for evening wear which won't feature pockets of this style.

I like the idea of embroidering onto the waistband or hemline of a skirt. This maxi length skirt features different symbols featured on a wall at Glastonbury.

All these sample I created using colouring pencil and fine liners to add stitch detailing like a working drawing. My final working drawings will be in black and white with more detailed and neat stitch lines.
