I have created drawings inspired by Alejandra's occult pieces. I began by quickly sketching out the form of a rams skull. I included similar features such as the texture of the horns. I used faint pencil marks to add shading. I created this sample using a drawing pen. I like the design of this sample however it could be made more interesting by incorporating various shapes and symbols. I will also draw on a bigger scale and on smoother paper to see if it gives a cleaner finish.

This drawing is an improvement from my smaller ram drawing. I found drawing on a larger scale enabled me to pay attention to detail. I also used different sized pen nibs. For example, the detailed lines were drawn with s 0.05 nib where as the eyes were created with a 0.5. Using a smaller nib is great for adding small details where as a thicker nib makes shading in large areas quicker. I added the inverted pentagram on top of the rams head and triangular shapes behind and beneath. This makes the sample more engaging to look at.
To develop this sample further I am going to add some more detailing using a different form of media.

This sample is inspired by the female drawn in Alejandra's work. The women has hollow eyes, white hair and a contoured face. I created the contour effect on her face and neck using very light pen strokes. The circle behind her represents the moon. To develop this sample I shall try creating this female using machine stitch.

As a development from the drawing above I created a machine embroidery sample of the women. I stitched black thread onto white cotton to link with the black and white theme Alejandra Saenz has in her work. I attempted to add facial features to this sample but it was hard to create neat shapes so I blacked out her face giving this sample a macabre twist. I purposely had the fabric slightly loose on the embroidery hoop which caused it to bunch in areas giving it a textured look. I like the appearance of machine embroidery as it's unitidy but still appealing. I want to experiement using machine embroidery on soluble fabric to see what outcomes I can produce.
