Adrienne Rozzi Responses: Witch

This drawing of a witch is inspired by Adrienne Rozzi's piece featuring a witch tied to the wheel of the year.

I began by roughly sketching out the outline of the women, then went back in neatening it up; making sure the body was in proportion etc.

I shaded the dress using a 0.8 nib pen, using scratching strokes in some areas creating lighter grains as Rozzi does in her designs.

I tend to often struggle with drawing hands however I found this time not too challenging. The only issue with the hands is they aren't holding the flame properly. To improve on this I will create this part of the drawing at a larger scale so I can focus on ensuring I draw everything correctly.

I drew the pentagram above the flame as this symbol seems to be the most commonly used for Wicca.

I will refine this drawing on photoshop by touching up the arms so they are even and then use this design for screen printing.
