Wiccan Festivals

Wicca has eight major festivals.  They all start at sunset and end on sunset the next day.  The following are solar celebrations and the date is determined by the sun and earth:

Yule/Winter solstice is the shortest day of the year.

Midsummer/Summer solstice is the longest day of the year.

Spring and Autumn equinot is when the hours of day and night are equal.

The other four festivals are in between the solar festivals and originate from Celtic roots:

Imbolic - Febuary 1st-2nd

Bethane - April 30th- May 1st

Lughnasadh/Lammas - July 31st-August 1st

Samhain/Halloween- Octobr 31st-November 1st

This is a wheel of the year interpretation I saw in a shop in Glasonbury.  It features a range of different wiccan simbols and is divided into the four seasons.
