Survey & Results
I have created a survey to help me with my final designs and market research to define my target market. I asked a range of questions based on what people do and what their hobbies and styles are. In total I had 30 people answer my questions which is a decent amount to collect answers from.
The majority of candidates were aged 18-21. Looking at individual answers most people that were this age were also students from a city.

The majority of my candidates would describe their style as on trend or casual. This would be because generally more people prefer to be on trend than have an individual style. Most people shop at stores like New Look and Topshop and wear whatever is on trend in them stores. Looking at each person’s individual answers I noticed a trend between people who selected they have an on trend style hadn’t heard or don’t like any of the retailers listed in the next question. This would be because these retailers don’t sell on trend styles but more alternative and gothic styles, similar to my brand. As I predicted the people that claimed to have this style in the questionnaire liked at least two of the retailers. Out of all the retailers, the most popular store was Pulp. This could be because they sell a range of different brands and band t-shirts including pop bands such as 5 Seconds of Summer as well as heavy metal band T-shirts such as Black Sabbath.

Most people prefer embroidery on garments as a placement motif. I will feature motifs of embroidery on my garments to appeal to the majority.

The preferred dress length is mini. This could be because of the time of year and current styles. The answers I got from these two questions will reflect in my final designs.

The most popular choise of music is pop. This makes sense as that is the most popular kind of music in general. Looking at people’s individual answers people with an alternative/gothic style we’re into either punk/rock, heavy metal or indie. People with this style also enjoy playing music, reading, playing video games, socialising and taking scenic walks.
